Work on a new lift at Timberline Mountain is underway.

Perfect North wasted no time in getting boots on the ground at Timberline after they completed the purchase. On Monday, the work replacing the Thunderstruck Triple Chair Lift reached a milestone as all the chairs were removed.

Doppelmayr is working with Timberline Mountain to build a new chairlift in Thunderstruck’s place with the construction happening over the summer. Per the News from the Mountain section on Timberline’s website, details of the size and scope of the new lift ae still to be determined.

You can view a photo gallery of the project by clicking here.

The website also teases several new projects so we will be passing on more information as we get it.

On a quick side note, the chairs from Thunderstruck are going to be available for purchase. Timberline posted the following information:

The chairs will be available for purchase for $250 for one or $200 each for 2 or more. While details on when they will be available for purchase and pick-up remain to be determined, rest assured if you were hoping to get ahold of one of these pieces of West Virginia ski history you certainly will!

It is great to see Timberline bustling with activity as they get prepped to reopen for the 2020-2021 season.
