Some snow is always a great start to the week.

After some rain moved through late Sunday, the northwest flow snow machine kicked up late overnight and this morning providing some incredible conditions to kick off the last full week of January.

It is insane how fast we got to this point in the month.

For complete details, be sure to visit the Snow Reports page.

Unfortunately, not everyone is seeing natural snow this morning as the Virginia resorts are so far missing out.

We are seeing mixed accumulations so far this morning, and we could see total accumulations of 3″-6″ with locally higher amounts possible.

Snowshoe is the big winner with 3″ so far this morning, while Beech and Sugar have surpassed 2″ already.

Canaan, Timberline, and Wisp have all received over an inch of fresh snow already.

Pretty sweet start to the day.

As I mentioned, we will see snow falling at most locations throughout the day setting up great conditions to go along with the magic the snowmaking operation crews are working this morning.

The best part might be we still have some opportunities for snow later this week to end the month strong.

Snow days are always fun days to be on the slopes as it brings just a different vibe and excitement. Especially when it is snowing the big flakes like I am seeing over at Resortcams this morning.

Don’t forget you can check conditions at your favorite resort with the live streaming cameras at Resortcams.com 24/7 and take in the snow virtually if you aren’t able to make some turns today.

One quick note – we are also dealing with a wind advisory so you may see some lift operations affected throughout the day, but even those should be temporary.

All-in-all, it should be a fantastic day on the slopes.
