The Omni Homestead Resort’s snow sports season begins Saturday, December 26 for skiers and snowboarders.
The ice skating rink, located adjacent to the Allegheny Springs outdoor pool opened today and the Penguin Slides tubing area will open on Sunday.
This season, in response to COVID-19 and with the health and safety of our guests and associates our top priority, we have implemented new procedures that meet or exceed the guidelines set forth by CDC and the Commonwealth of Virginia.
For our snow sports, we will be implementing additional measures such as lift line barriers, designated entrances and exits, single direction traffic flow and thorough sanitizing of rental equipment between uses.
To expedite the check-in process, we strongly encourage advance ticket purchases. Reservations will be required for tubing and ice skating and limited to 25 persons per session. Ice skating sessions will be 75 minutes with a 15-minute break between sessions for cleaning and rink maintenance.
Known as one of the top family-friendly ski areas in the East, The Homestead offers a comfortable, relaxed and uncrowded area ideal for beginners. Home to the Sepp Kober Ski School, the resort maintains an experienced team of ski and snowboard instructors offering private lessons.
The resort’s Rossignol Experience Center features the latest innovations from the renowned French ski equipment maker.
Skiers can take advantage of rental skis featuring Auto Turn Rocker technology, which aids in turning, heightening ability and elevating performance. Intermediate to advanced level skiers can rent a pair of skis from the resort’s Rossignol demo fleet.

The Omni Homestead snow sports area will be open December 26 – January 3 and then Thursdays – Sundays throughout the season as well as Monday, Jan. 18 and Monday, Feb. 15.
