Park Place Terrain Park at Breakaway Village was full of excitement on Saturday, January 27th as Wolf Ridge Ski Resort hosted our first Slope Competition of the season.

There were 22 riders for the competition and plenty action!

Congratulations to our winners of the Slope-Style Competition Park Place – our new Terrain Park at Breakaway. Twenty-two competitors hit the park today and the air was filled with boarders and skiers! Orion Hunt, of Asheville, took home $500 bucks for first place.

Seth McCurrey, of Asheville took home the second place prize of $250 bucks! Danny Wilcox, Cameron Snyder and Jared Oldre rounded out the top five.

It was a great competition and everyone gave it their best, stayed safe and had fun! We’d like to give special thanks to Flipside Skate Shop for providing a new helmet and unitool for 3rd prize. Also – SPECIAL THANKS to Aaron Dunn for doing a great job as emcee and keeping the ball rolling with some great commentary – great job, Aaron!

The event was sponsored by Wolf Ridge Ski Resort, Scenic Wolf Resort, Breakaway Village, Zero Gravity Skate Park of Brevard, FLIPSIDE skate shop and Red Bull. The Park Place terrain park has the following features: 13′ Straight Rail, 16′ C-box, 16′ flat down T-box, 10′ rainbow rail, 16′ flat box and a 3 ft. mini kicker.
