(Beckley, West Virginia) Winterplace Ski Resort is extending their season
to Sunday, March 30th, 2008.
Due to the abundance of snow on the slopes, Winterplace Ski Resort officials have announced that they are extending this ski season by one week, allowing skiers, snowboarders and snowtubers more time to enjoy the Raleigh County, West Virginia facility, which was originally scheduled to close Easter Sunday. "Winterplace set a record for snowmaking this season and still has tons of snow for skiing, boarding and tubing" says Terry Pfeiffer, president of Winterplace Ski Resort. Winterplace increased their snowmaking capacity this season and is looking at adding even more capacity for next season. Winterplace boasts the highest snowmaking capacity per acre in the Southeast.
Winterplace will be open Monday, March 24 through March 30, 2008, from 9am to 5pm for skiing and boarding with special discounted rates.
Snowtubing will be open 1pm to 5pm weekdays and 9am to 5pm weekends.
Also, with the Winterplace Central Reservations Service, guests have the ability to reserve everything from lodging to lift tickets with one simple toll free phone call. Lodging can be arranged at Winterplace’s sister resort The Resort at Glade Springs and other fine lodging facilities in the area.
Learn-To-Ski/Snowboard Packages are offered for first time skiers and boarders. The Learn-To-Ski/Snowboard Package includes a 90 minute group lesson, rental equipment and a beginner lift ticket.
