Here’s the latest on what to expect from Mother Nature for the next ten days. Pretty much MORE of what we’ve seen so far.

Mon, November 29th – High 52° Low 35°
Tues, Nov 30th – Showers and Hi 44° Lo 41°
Wed, Dec 1st – RAIN and Hi 56° Lo 33°
Thurs, Dec 2nd – Sun and Hi 44° Lo 26°
Fri, Dec 3rd – Sun and Hi 42° Lo 27°
Sat, Dec 4th – Sun and Hi 47° Lo 36°
Sun, Dec 5th – RAIN and Hi 50° Lo 34°
Mon, Dec 6th – Sun and Hi 51° Lo 36°
Tues, Dec 7th – Sun and Hi 48° Lo 36°

Our sources are NOAA, WJHL, local weather guru Ray Russell and the WEATHER channel…and these temps are for the higher elevations of Banner Elk, Sugar and Beech Mountain. With this kind of pattern in place we’re most likely to see the resorts kick in the snowmaking at every opportunity, particularly during the middle of this week to make for the best possible conditions for the weekend of December 3rd-5th.

We’ll probably see a few slopes open at each of the resorts that planned to be open (see ski report for scheduled opening dates). If the forecast holds and temps go mild Dec 5, 6 and 7…we’ll have to keep an eye on what the following weekend will be like. Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves…and by all means THINK COLD and THINK SNOW.
