The holiday rush is here.

First off, I hope everyone had a great Christmas – it was a beautiful day across the area. I think we would have all preferred some natural snow and cold, but yesterday wasn’t too bad.

Crowds have been picking up all week at the resorts and will continue to do so for the rest of this week and weekend as we are now flying towards the new year.

Crazy – it seems like a week ago we were talking about our first light snow on Halloween.

As Mike mentioned in First Trax yesterday (if you didn’t get to read it, be sure to check it out here), things are remarkably good all things considered.

Every morning, I always take a virtual tour of the slopes over on Resortcams and this morning it kept striking me how great things look. There is plenty of snow and it will be a great time for those able to get out on the slopes today and the weekend.

It is a testament to the mountain op crews and the work they put in so we can enjoy the slopes. A big #ThankASnowmaker to those staffs that keep snow on the slopes for us.

For the details on today’s conditions, be sure to check out the Snow Report.

Today’s weather is going to be on the warmer side, but there is cold on way with the new year.

It’s something we will be keeping an eye on.

It may have been Christmas Day, but the resorts were hard at work and there was some great content on social media.

Canaan Valley’s Justin Harris hit the slopes and was joined by Santa and Bucky on Timbertrail.

Justin also shared some great photos from yesterday.

Cataloochee also shared some great photos of the Cataloochee family.

Winterplace also shared this post – which we completely agree with.

Mike and Kenny are on their way to Snowshoe as we speak, and they will be sharing content throughout their trip.

Be sure to follow us on social media for the latest.

Until next time, #ThinkSnow (and #ThinkCold for good measure)!
