Tuesday is shaping up to be quite nice.

Several resorts were able to crank up snowmaking operations overnight, and some blue skies are setting the stage for a nice day to make some turns.

The icing on the cake is Timberline, Snowshoe, and Canaan Valley each receiving a trace of natural snow to give a winter ambiance.

Tuesday pretty much stays status quo as far as open terrain and resorts as App Ski, Beech Mountain, Bryce Resort, Cataloochee, Snowshoe, Sugar Mountain, Timberline, and Wisp will be open for play today.

For the full details, be sure to visit the Snow Reports page.

Of those eight, it looks like Snowshoe, Sugar, Timberline, and Wisp all were able to make snow – with the ‘Shoe having nearly around-the-clock snowmaking since Sunday night.

Pretty sweet.

If you are lucky enough to make some turns today, you should find some pretty nice conditions, especially at the northern resorts.

As a quick side note, it was fantastic to see a few other resorts able to make snow overnight.

Tuesday will be pretty nice, but Wednesday is looking like a not-so-nice day as change is coming. I think we will all like the pattern change, however.

Our own Brad Panovich stopped by with his latest skier’s forecast, and things are looking pretty fantastic after Wednesday.

The next couple of weeks is looking pretty sweet. That cold air will give the mountain operation crews plenty to work with to work their magic.

Friendly reminder – if you are thinking about making a mountain getaway for the week between Christmas and New Year’s and haven’t made reservations, it isn’t too late, but it is recommended to make those as soon as possible.

That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
