Calling all snow bunnies! This past weekend, January 31, 2010, Beech Mountain Ski Resort hosted the first installment of the Edge vs. The World Snowboarding contest and while resort officials relayed that they had a good number of men register and compete, they expressed that they would have liked to have seen a few more ladies signing up to compete. The next competition in the series will take place on Valentine’s Day, Sunday, February 14, 2010, and the finals are scheduled for March 7, 2010. Beech Mountain Ski Resort will host all of the upcoming events this competition series. Here’s some additional helpful information if you are one of the ladies that is thinking of signing up; as always we encourage any and all that want to take part to take the bull by the horns and JUST DO IT! Even if you do not believe that you have the skill level to compete, take it from us—we’ve seen ALL kinds of skill levels out there competing and taking part in the series. Who knows? You might surprise yourself!

Sign Up/Registration is located at the Beech Tree from 11-Noon

The Slopestyle Competition will begin at 12:30 and will be located at the Powder Bowl Terrain Park.

The Boardercross Competition will begin at 2:30, and the competition will take place in the Meadows Terrain Park.

As always, there are numerous prizes including cash prizes and a final large grand prize at the finals. We hope to see some additional ladies out there competing at Beech Mountain Ski Resort! Also, we were just informed that, at the SkiSoutheast.com 2010 Summit hosted by Beech Mountain, they have scheduled boardercross and slopestyle competitions to support breast cancer research. More information on that competition to follow!
