Rooster Allen Offers Sugar Mountain Trail Report for December 26th

On Snow

Sugar was blowing snow all day, December 26th. The natural snow started falling around 10 AM and continued all day. It was about 36 degrees when I arrived at 9 AM and 28 degrees when I left at 4:30 PM. The skiers arrived with the snow and the continued coming all day as well. Conditions steadily improved as the day went on. The brown spots were actually getting covered. Maybe the magic carpet area will be skible tomorrow. Sugar had it open but it should have been closed. There was as much mud and dirt as there was snow. Easy Street, Switchback, Flying Mile and Big Birch were all in fair shape. There were several bare and thin places but nothing that couldn’t be avoided. I expect to see conditions improve every day this week. New Year’s weekend and celebrations should be a blast.

Until next run,

Rooster
