It is going to be a great weekend – rather Mother Nature wants to cooperate or not.

It is going to be a mixed-bag weather weekend as you may see a little bit of everything depending on where you are at.

Conditions, however, will still be really good on the slopes.
Old Ma’ Nature did cooperate at some locations this morning as a handful of resorts saw fresh powder to kick off the holiday weekend.

It was great to see some of the Virginia resorts get that fresh powder as Wintergreen reported five inches of snow overnight, while Massanutten and Omni Homestead received three inches of white gold.

Bryce Resort received a heavy trace.

In West Virginia, Snowshoe saw the Cheat Mountain magic with three inches of snow overnight. Canaan Valley and Timberline also received a trace of natural snow overnight.

Last but not least, Wisp Resort is kicking off the holiday weekend with an additional two inches of snow – which brings their two-day totals to eight inches.

That is pretty fantastic.

The rest of the area saw a mixed bag of weather – including freezing rain which is what the Boone area resorts are dealing with right now.

However, that is expected to taper off later this morning.

All that said, the slopes still look in incredible condition for the holiday weekend.

As a heads-up, some resorts are already hitting capacity limits so be sure to plan ahead.
