Let it snow.

After the Thursday system brought high winds, heavy rain, and even some hail, the northwest flow switch got toggled on.

Snow is falling at several resorts this morning, and is expected to continue throughout the day and into Saturday painting an incredible picture for MLK Weekend.

As a cherry on top, the mountain operation crews will be able to work their magic as conditions will be incredible for those making turns.

Today’s picture of the day is from App Ski Mountain, and we can expect more of the those great conditions.

Brad shared his latest update overnight with a look at totals and timing.

I thought the title was appropriate – finally, some real snow.

I do hate it for our Virginia resorts as it looks like they may miss out on accumulation, but hopefully, they will be able to take advantage of the cold.

Snow did begin to fall overnight and a few resorts have picked up some accumulation already.

Beech Mountain and Sugar Mountain are the winners so far with 2″, while Snowshoe, Canaan Valley, and Timberline are all around the inch mark. Wisp has received a half inch.

There are several resorts where the snow has just started so we will call that a trace this morning.

The best part is we are going to add to these totals all day.

For the latest conditions, be sure to visit the Snow Reports page.

Conditions are going to be incredible this weekend with free refills most places over the next couple of days and then a couple of bluebird days to end the holiday weekend.

It is going to be a busy day and weekend so be sure to follow us on social media as we provide updates.
