Lees-McRae College is set to help skiers and snowboarders hyped for the winter season.

The College’s Ski Industry Business and Instruction minor in partnership with the Lees-McRae Ski and Snowboard team as well as Beech Mountain Resort will host the Teton Gravity Research Film Tour on Thursday, Nov. 21.

The event will be held at Evans Auditorium. The doors are set to open at 6p, and the film will begin at 7p.

Tickets for the community are $10, and there is a discount for Lees-McRae students, faculty and staff along with Beech Mountain employees and season pass holders.

The description of the film from the event’s website is:

“Winterland is a celebration of ski and snowboard culture. Today’s mountain athletes can only stand as tall as those who came before, the pirates of the past who followed their own path and passion. This story of adventure is far from over, as a new crop of modern-day pioneers are eager to etch their names in the annals of history. The technology and style might evolve, but the rush, excitement, and pure fun remain eternal, bonding past, present, and future riders. The film will follow these individuals as they leave their own mark on these fabled locations.”

All proceeds will benefit the Ski Industry Business and Instruction minor, helping fund student conferences, certifications, and other professional development opportunities.
