On Snow

A friend and I went snowboarding last night at Hawksnest. Even though it has been warm there was plenty of snow to the top of the red left. Sock em’ and Top gun were not open which was a little disappointing, but you can only blame the weather for that.

Riding Chicken Hawk, The Right Stuff, and Old Blue was still great just to be out there with no lines, and the temp was great not too cold and not too hot. The snow was slushy but not too slow.

Near the end of the night it became a little choppy and created unexpected hits to add a little excitement. I did like how they had some terrain park features throughout the mountain. I enjoyed a hit at the top that sent you over a tree branch, as well, as two big hits that sent you over a huge mound of snow. There were also three boxes including a rainbow box set up at the bottom of the slope. I tried a couple of these since the snow was soft I was not fearful I would pile drive into a sheet of ice. It just felt good to be out on my board carving up the mountain. I fear the upcoming week might postpone this for a bit. I hope to be out there soon enough though.
