It is going to be a beautiful start to the week.

I know we would prefer that fresh powder forecast, but today will be pretty fantastic for spring skiing. It will be a tad warm, but it will be a beautiful bluebird Monday.

The season has flown by over the past few months, and it is hard to believe we are in the closing days of the 2020-21 campaign.

As we kick off the week, we have seven resorts that still have ski and snowboard operations open. For the complete list of conditions, be sure to visit the Snow Reports page.

A quick glance at who is open as we kick off the week:

North Carolina
App Ski Mountain – The Blowing Rock resort is in the final week of their season as they are currently riding on 12 trails with four lifts spinning. They have a 54-67″ base with a groomed surface.

Beech Mountain – Beech is playing on 12 slopes today with four lifts turning. They have a groomed surface with a 44-80″ base.

Cataloochee – Cataloochee is reporting a 41-71″ base with a granular surface. They are offering 15 trails with five lifts in service.

Sugar Mountain – With a 25-75″ base, Sugar Mountain is reporting a loose and frozen granular surface. They are riding on 17 slopes with five lifts turning.

West Virginia
Snowshoe – The Basin side is going strong this week at 4848′. Snowshoe has 42 trails and seven lifts available for play. They are rocking a 40″ base with spring conditions.

Timberline – Timberline has had an incredible reopening season, and they are currently offering 18 slopes and three lifts for play. They are reporting a groomed surface atop a 16-60″ base.

I expect an update on their plan to end the season within the next 24-48 hours.

Maryland
Wisp – Wisp is in the last week of the 2020-21 season as well as they are currently riding on a 26″ base with a groomed and variable base. They have 21 trails and six lifts in operation.

One quick note from Virginia – Massanutten has suspended operations through Friday as they plan to reopen on Saturday and Sunday.

As I mentioned earlier, it is going to be a bluebird day today. We will deal with some clouds the rest of the week and perhaps some rain as we head toward the weekend.

That does it for today, until next time, #ThinkSnow!
