Next week could be exciting.

Looking at the forecast for next week, we could see a couple of snowmaking windows just about region-wide.

With the upgrades in snowmaking equipment as well as the savviness of our mountain op crews, they can crank out a ton of snow in a short amount of time (it is never too early to #thankasnowmaker).

Starting Sunday night, we could see snowmaking areawide each night until next Friday if the forecast holds out (c’mon Mother Nature – help us out please). The long-term forecast is also showing some colder temps so the season may get off to a great start.

Forecasts do change, but we will keep an eye out for the latest developments.

The snowmaking windows will come in the nick of time as App Ski Mountain is slated to open the 2020-21 season on Friday, Nov. 20, and Beech Mountain’s opening day is set for Saturday, Nov. 21.

We could potentially see a few more resorts join the fray sometime next week (Sugar and Cataloochee come to mind) if the snowmaking windows stay true.

Snowshoe is set to open on Wednesday, Nov. 25.

That will do it for today, but check back next week. Until then, #ThinkSnow and #ThinkCold!
