On Snow

We skied the Wolf yesterday-yes, it’s hard to believe, but there was skiing at Wolf! Of course, no surprise that the offerings were slim, in the form of 3 trails, counting the bunny slope which was VERY thinly covered, thanks to grooming, but I found decent conditions early in the day. As seem in the pictures, Broadway has become a snake down the mountain with some narrow gaps but surprisingly there is still some base left. They opened about 9:45 Saturday-late due to grooming, but early conditions were really not bad-better than I expected. Crowds were non-existent, mostly locals and 2 or 3 church groups, who spent most of the day in ski school. I never waited in line once. Of course by afternoon, the conditions had deteriorated to mush and just became too difficult for me to want to maneuver in so I called it quits about 2:30. At that point I took some pictures of youngsters playing in the snow. Management had reported that they would not open on Sunday unless they had at least 20 walk-ins on Sat, so I guess they must have gotten it since they did open this morning. I’ll pass, and wait for more snow. I would like to applaud them for keeping some snow around during these difficult times!
