It is day 365 of 2020.

With this year being a leap year, we received an extra day of 2020 so we still have another day to go before we can flip the calendar to 2021.

Snowshoe is looking fantastic for the holiday week crowds.

For those who were able to join us at the 2020 Ski Southeast Summit, our extra day in February was spent at Snowshoe with near-perfect conditions.

It is hard to believe that was just nine months ago, but it has felt like it has been a year or three since then.

Fast forward to today, and the 365th day of 2020 is featuring great conditions areawide.

A handful of resorts were able to crank up the snowmaking equipment last night to refresh the slopes which will make the early morning runs extra sweet today.

Our own Kenny Griffin shared a video of an early Tuesday morning run in the manmade fluff at Snowshoe.

Pretty fantastic.

It has been as busy as advertised so far this week as many resorts have hit capacity set in place for the COVID-19 protocols.

As of 8 am this morning, the following resorts were already limited or sold out for Wednesday, Dec. 30:

App Ski Mountain – Day Session sold out for Dec. 30 and 31. Night session tickets were still available.

Beech Mountain – Sold out for day and night sessions on Dec. 30.

Massanutten – Lift tickets and snow tubing are sold out for Dec. 30.

Snowshoe Mountain – All-Access Lift tickets are sold out for Dec. 30. A few Silver Creek only tickets remain.

Wintergreen – Sold out of day tickets for Dec 30.

It is a beautiful morning at Wintergreen.

Ober Gatlinburg – Tubing is sold out through Jan. 6. Lift tickets available for today but rental sales will be suspended no later than 1 pm today. Individual lift tickets will still be available to purchase for those that have their own equipment.

We also expect a couple of other resorts to hit that capacity mark as well today.

Sugar Mountain is doing ticket sales and parking on a first-come-first-serve basis. They sold out of day tickets pretty fast on Tuesday, and I fully expect that to be the case again today. Please note that they are also selling night session tickets that go on sale later in the day.

Wisp Resort hasn’t officially announced they are sold out for today, but there are no tickets for today available for purchase online.

If you are planning to ride today (or even later this week), the key will be to plan in advance and also be sure to check with your destination resort before you make the trip.

That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
