Today’s featured image is from App Ski Mountain over the weekend. If you don’t follow them on social media, their Sunrise Sunday series is worth the follow alone. App is slated to kick off their season on Friday.

We have two resorts to play at for the third day of the 2022-23 season.

After suspending operations for a rainy and just overall blah Tuesday, Cataloochee will have the lift spinning again this morning rejoining Sugar Mountain as open resorts.

Cataloochee will be playing on six slopes with three lifts in operation for today. Those slopes include Upper and Lower Omigosh, Rock Island Run, and Beginner’s Luck.

The Maggie Valley resort is reporting a 6-14″ base with manmade conditions.

Sugar Mountain is holding steady with six slopes and the Summitt Express and the Easy Street lifts in operation. They are playing on an 8-22″ base with loose and frozen granular.

Both Sugar and Cataloochee are open for day sessions only.
Tuesday gave the snowmaking crews at most locations a bit of a break, but we expect them to go full force later today as conditions allow.

I fully expect everyone who made snow over the past weekend to resume snowmaking operations and it wouldn’t surprise me if we see a couple of additions to that list.

Bryce Resort posted a really cool reel over on Instagram featuring their hard-working snowmaking crew and it turned out awesome.

Late Tuesday and overnight also brought some light natural snow to part of the region.

Wisp was the big winner as the snow continues to fall this morning with just over an inch, while Canaan and Timberline received just over a half inch.

Pretty sweet.

If you look closely, you can see some light snow still falling at Wisp this morning.

As always, you can check out live conditions at your favorite resort at Resortcams.com.

That does it for today but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
