It is calm before the storm this morning.

The weather is changing as we slide out of a brief mild up back into full-blown winter for most of our region.

Our eyes are on the northern resorts – West Virginia, Virginia, and Maryland – as snow will start around lunchtime and continue off and on until Friday.

How incredible is that as we head into President’s Day Weekend?

With free refills of powder over the next couple of days, conditions will be beyond incredible.

The North Carolina resorts along with Ober – are going to miss out on the first part of the storm as it will be a mixed bag of precipitation but mostly rain, but our own Brad Panovich talked they could see some fresh snow over the weekend and into early next week.

It is something we will certainly be keeping our eye on once the flakes start falling and as we head into the busy weekend.

Meanwhile, today’s conditions are looking fantastic despite temperatures being a tad warm (I certainly wouldn’t call it a full-blown mild spell) the past couple of days.

We had some of the best conditions of the season this past weekend and things are still looking incredible. Even with the undeveloped snow in the southern locations, this weekend looks like everywhere will continue to have outstanding conditions with plenty of snow to play on.

For the latest conditions, be sure to hop over to the Snow Reports page, and don’t forget you can take a live look at the resorts over on Resortscams.com.

This season keeps giving and we are loving it.

Over the past 24 hours (or so), a few social posts caught my eye that I wanted to share.

This photo from Beech Mountain just incredible. Our mountains certainly put on a show at sunrise and sunset.

That is also an outstanding ticket offer for college students.

The views at Timberline also never disappoint. Check out this photo from Monday’s bluebird day conditions.

Yea – those snow totals grabbed my attention as well.

Wolf Ridge is also doing a great ticket special on Tuesdays.

It is hard to beat that. Speaking of deals, App Ski Mountain has a family weekend of fun planned for your crew.

Cataloochee was showing off conditions earlier this week as well with this really cool photo – which also happens to be today’s photo of the day.

Massanutten Resort was getting us excited with some more weather folklore yesterday (Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning).

It will be great to see the Virginia resorts get some fresh snow out of this week’s storm.

Canaan Valley’s Mark gave us a look at conditions on Facebook on Tuesday morning as he did First Tracks with members of the Ski Patrol.

It is amazing how great the conditions are right now.

Last but not least, it was #NoonSki Tuesday at Ober Gatlinburg as their crew gave us a preview of how things are looking this week.

Ober is certainly having an outstanding season.

That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
