On Snow

Hey everyone. I havn’t submitted any TR’s on the last couple of trips out since I didn’t have any photos to go along with them.

I forgot the camera this time around as well, but took a couple with my cellphone to at least give everyone something to look at.

My girlfriend, myself, and my friend Joey headed up to Hawk today as she is still a beginner and we were trying to avoid some crowds. What a great day on the slopes!!!

Arrived about 12pm to glorious conditions and weather so warm, we shed layers down to just t-shirts! Picked up our passes and headed out. My girl is just learning to ski and is able to ride the lift and snowplow down but had no knowledge on how to turn, so she took an hour private lesson to get some more basics down while Joey and I hit the upper part of the mountain. Conditions were mashed taters but the snow wasn’t very slow and it was alot of fun. Made about 4 runs until she was done with her lesson, and low & behold, she made some superior progress! The rest of the day she and I did about 10 more runs on the smaller lift and she did great! She was turning excellent and was able to keep her skis together when going straight.

As far as the Hawk, they had some nice features set up, as well as some huge jumps, a few kickers, and some nice rollers. Great crowd, excellent morale at the resort, and just an all around nice day. Finally, to end it – there was an amazing sunset to view!

Headed to Sugar on Tuesday!
