A Thursday Waiting Game

Today’s featured image is from Canaan Valley from earlier this week. It won’t be long until we are skiing with sights like this all around.

It’s a waiting day for your Thursday.

After an early week appetizer, today will be the second day of a brief pause in the season.

However, things are about to pick up in a big way.

Cold air arrives again tonight as a cold front moves through with some underdeveloped snow.

That brings along several snowmaking windows over the coming days – some resorts may be able to get a bit of around-the-clock snowmaking on Friday.

We are also keeping an eye on the Monday-Tuesday forecast as some potential natural snow could help set the winter mood for us.

As I mentioned, today is another pause day as operations at Sugar are still suspended. They are estimating they will reopen tomorrow (Friday, Nov. 19) so stay tuned.

Cataloochee is also set to open on Saturday – which I fully expect to be a go.

That does it for today, but until tomorrow, #ThinkSnow!
