A Break In The Rain

After Wednesday’s rain, we are going to dry out a bit today. However, Ma Nature is going to throw another system at us to start the weekend.

Wednesday was a soggy day across the region for just about everyone as several resorts had over a half inch of rain. A few of the northern resorts didn’t surpass a quarter inch – which was good news.

The rain has made it a challenge for the mountain operation crews, but they continue to work their magic to give the best conditions possible given the situation. There is still plenty of snow to ride on, and we should have some soft, playful spring skiing if you are able to make turns today.

Today will be a great day to get out before Ma Nature throws another bout of rainy weather at us tomorrow evening through Saturday.

There are some hints we could see some snowflakes on Saturday night, so that will be something to keep watch on over the next day or so.

However, it doesn’t look like the weekend is a complete wash.

The rainy weather did bring a couple of announcements from resorts on Wednesday evening.

Bryce Resort was set to host Winterfest on Saturday, March 9, but they have decided to postpone the event a week. That event is now scheduled for Saturday, March 16.

Winterplace also announced that they will not be able to open this weekend and will be closing for the season.

For the complete conditions across the region, be sure to visit the Snow Reports page.

As we look into the weekend, a couple of resorts shared information about events for next week (March 16-17) on social media that looks like a lot of fun.

App Ski Mountain posted the schedule of events for their annual Meltdown Games.

That is always a great time.

Ober Mountain is set to kick off St. Patrick’s Day Weekend with an electrifying performance by Tuatha Dea on Friday, March 15.

The group is a trailblazing Americana band and you will experience a fusion of Appalachian and Celtic music influences. It will be a great way to kick off next weekend.

That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
