Area Description
The
Sapphire Valley Ski Area & Frozen Falls Tube Park is an integral part of a 5,700-acre, four-season resort nestled in the pristine Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The average elevation is 3,600 feet.
Our ski resort consists of The Sapphire Streamliner, our 1,600-foot main run with a vertical drop of 200 feet, featuring our
brand new state-of-the-art Quad Lift.
New this year is
Frozen Falls Snow Tub Park, a 700-foot, multilane snow tube hill with a vertical drop of 70 feet! In keeping with the natural serenity of Sapphire Valley, lift lines are short, thus providing the perfect setting for families seeking quality time.
The base lodge has a rustic mountain style complete with a stone fireplace, "Jimmy-Mac's" Restaurant/Snack Bar, clothing shop and clothing rental (limited quantities and sizes, first come, first served basis).
Jackson County’s
Sapphire Valley Ski Area is but one small component of the popular resort, offering two short slopes for its property owners, resort guests, and day skiers. It’s a comfortable environment for introducing
new skiers to the sport, and a patient ski school welcomes anyone from young children to senior first-timers.
Sapphire Valley Ski Area is a part of the 5,700-acre, four-season resort nestled in a pristine mountain valley high in the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains, with an average elevation of 4,300 feet.
They offer two runs, one each for intermediate and beginner skiers, featuring runs up to 1100 feet in length and a vertical drop of 200 feet.
Visitors will find that this resort places a premium on the surrounding amenities, such as a huge recreation center that offers an indoor pool, hot tubs, saunas, fitness center, mini golf,
an arcade and more.

and catering kitchen, in addition to a reception area and spacious decks.
The Community Center provides excellent views of the
Horsepasture River and downhill ski operations.
Beginners receive the personal attention necessary to master the basics of downhill skiing or snowboarding, and seasoned veterans can hone their skills.

Lodging Profile
There are several ski chalets located on and around the resort and there are several stay and ski packages. Lodging at Sapphire Valley is among the finest of any of the ski resorts in the Southeast!
Foxhunt at Sapphire Valley is nestled on a wooded mountainside in the southernmost part of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Some units overlook a small lake. Amenities include an outdoor pool, a park with picnic area, an 18-hole PGA golf course, eight clay and two hard-surfaced tennis courts, and health club with indoor pool, whirlpool and exercise equipment. Hiking, fishing, miniature golf and canoeing are other popular activities. Skiing is available mid-December through February, weather permitting. A car is needed to access the various amenities at the resort.
Fairway Forest at Sapphire Valley is located in the southernmost part of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and offers 5,700 acres of natural beauty at an elevation of 3,100 ft.
