This season saw numerous heavy snow events and, while the High Country has not seen too much snow within the last three weeks or so, that hasn’t stopped Appalachian Ski Mountain with going forward for this coming weekend’s Appalachian Meltdown Games. The Meltdown Games signal the coming of spring and the end of a fantastic season—and this season has certainly been one to bring us out of the "warmer" winter doldrums that we’ve experienced the past few seasons. Don’t miss your chance to ski and board and hang out with the gang at Appalachian Ski Resort at the end of this ‘09/‘10 season.
App Ski Resort has tons of fun planned for the Meltdown Games this weekend, most of which consists of unique end-of-the-season events that do not take place any other time during the season. Enjoy the warm weather; App Ski Mtn encourages all to break out their beachwear and ski in their favorite surf gear! On Saturday April 10th, they have scheduled at Cardboard Box Derby at 11:30, a Ski & Snowboard Big Air Contest at 1:30, and a trash bag downhill race for 4:00. Sunday, April 11th, brings with it the High Ollie Contest early at 10:30, the Pond Skim & Costume Contest at 1:00, and Chinese Downhill at 4:00.
