Winterplace Officially Opens its Slopes for the 41st Skiing & Snowboarding Season on Saturday, Dec. 16

Winterplace will kick off its 2023/2024 skiing and snowboarding season on Saturday, Dec. 16 from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. The projected opening for West Virginia’s largest snowtubing park is not yet confirmed as additional snowmaking is still needed.

“We are excited begin our 41st skiing and snowboarding season and look forward to welcoming visitors to rediscover what makes Winterplace a one-stop destination for winter fun in West Virginia,” said Josh Faber, general manager at Winterplace. “Families of all ages can look forward to enjoying an enhanced winter recreational experience this season with Apres-ski entertainment, community ski events, racing and plenty of snow.”

Winterplace December Hours of Operation:
Saturday, December 16 and Sunday, December 17
Opening Weekend, 9 a.m. – 9 pm.

Monday, December 18 through Thursday, December 21
9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Friday, December 22 and Saturday, December 23
9 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Sunday, December 24
Christmas Eve, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Monday, December 25
Christmas Day, 1 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Tuesday, December 26 through Monday, January 1
9 a.m. – 9 p.m.

Winterplace recommends purchasing lift tickets and rentals online in advance to save up to 35 percent off. Tickets purchased at least 24 hours in advance qualify for the savings. To purchase 2023/24 tickets, visit, https://www.winterplace.com/lift-tickets.

Full Season passes are available to purchase online. Season passholders can also purchase an “Indy AddOn Pass” which allows them to ski at many independent Indy resorts across the US and Canada at a deeply discounted price. Additionally, the resort is offering its “Wild Wonderful Pass” for $79, which provides $25 off every all-day or evening lift ticket purchases, all season long. Santa will be making a special appearance at Winterplace to spread holiday cheer this Christmas season for two special days, Saturday, December 23 through Sunday, December 24.
