Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

It is going to be a busy day as we have a variety of opening days and sneak peeks to go along with the open resorts today.

Not to mention the sunshine and fun is going to be plentiful.

Six resorts in total are going to have the lifts spinning today giving us plenty of options to play.

The best part?

We are slated to add at least two more resorts to the ranks of the open on Friday.

Snowshoe is set to kick off the 2022-23 season today after yesterday’s pass-holder preview day.

The resort is rocking a 72″ base with 16 trails and three lifts spinning. They will be playing on a groomed surface.

Bryce Resort will also open the season with a soft opening day today. The Virginia resort is open from 9a-3p. They haven’t announced their trail lineup just yet, but we will update the Snow Reports page once we get that information.

Bryce will have a limited members-only session tomorrow afternoon before opening back to the public on Friday for the weekend.

Timberline Resort will drop the rope for their sneak peek day. They will be playing on 15 trails with one lift spinning and will be open from 12-4:30p.

It is the earliest opening in the mountain’s history, and they noted that they have made nearly half the amount of snow already this season than what was made last year. That is incredible.

The trio of North Carolina resorts that have been open remain going strong.

App Ski Mountain is reporting a 36-76″ base with a groomed surface. They are playing on seven trails with four lifts turning.

Cataloochee is rolling with 11 trails for Wednesday that are serviced by four lifts. They are riding on an 18-45″ base with a groomed surface.

Sugar Mountain is playing on a loose and frozen granular surface atop a 28-62″ base. They are playing on eight trails and have four lifts turning.

Conditions at all six resorts (and even those not open yet) are looking pretty fantastic for Thanksgiving.

As I mentioned earlier, we will have two more resorts drop the rope on their season on Friday as Beech Mountain and Massanutten will get things kicked off.

Considering how November started, the turnaround in the last couple of weeks has been incredible. (#ThankASnowmaker)

That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
