The temperatures overnight dropped as expected and snowmaking temps hit the region.

The temps around the area were as follows:
Boone 31°
Blowing Rock 33°
Beech Mountain 23°
Banner Elk 28°
Sugar Mountain 26°

The temperatures will do nothing but get colder out today and SNOW is in the forecast for the day, with possible accummulations around 1" to 2". It’s also been VERY windy and will remain that way throughout the day, so it will definately be a good day to stay inside and watch football and eat turkey! Tonight’s overnight low should be near 16°.

Friday’s forecast remains favorable for snowmaking with highs around 35° and lows around 30°. However, from then through the next few days…are iffy at best. The call right now is:

Saturday – Cloudy (Drizzle late) High 38° – Low 37°
Sunday – AM Drizzle High 39° – Low 32°
Monday – Partly Cloudy – High 40° – Low 35°
Tuesday – MC Showers – High 45° – Low 37°
Wednesday – MC RAIN – High 48° – Low 39°

So while we’re getting very close…we’re not quite at the place where consistent temps will inspire the resorts to fire up the guns in force!
