It is going to be a beautiful day for some spring turns to kick off the week.

After a pretty solid weekend, Monday is going to raise things a notch in the sunshine department. I think Snowshoe said it best this morning in their morning report.

“Dust off those shades and grab your sunscreen because this Monday is gearing up to be a stellar spring day right here on our heavenly island in the sky. It’s prime time to hit the slopes and indulge in some awesome springtime shredding!”

I couldn’t say it any better.

It is going to be a classic spring skiing day, and it will be a lot of fun for those able to make some turns today.

For the complete conditions report, be sure to visit the Snow Reports page.

Here are a few notable items as we kick off the week.

  • Winterplace has suspended operations Monday (March 4) through Thursday (March 7) and will reopen on Friday, March 8 for a weekend of bonus days.
  • Timberline is offering bonus day specials for the remainder of the season. Lift ticket specials and pass-holder perks are being offered.
  • Today marks the first day of March Madness at Sugar Mountain. The Banner Elk resort will offer special rates beginning today and through the end of the season.
  • Omni Homestead and Ski Sapphire Valley wrapped up their 2023-24 ski season on Sunday.
  • Today’s featured image is the morning view from atop Beech Mountain.

Here are a couple of cool things from social media over the weekend.

Massanutten Resort wrapped up its Snow Moon Fest on Sunday, and the Nutten9s Challenge seems like a lot of fun. 9,000 vertical feel of ski or snowboarding, nine holes of golf, and nine miles of mountain biking – I know several of our staff who would love to have that kind of day.

Canaan Valley hosted the Sunrise Scramble Uphill ski race this weekend and had a record number of registrations with 95.

Snowshoe Mountain hosted the Darn Tough Banked Slalom this past weekend and it looked like it was a blast.

That course on Spruce looks like a lot of fun.

That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
