Snowshoe Mountain officially cut the ribbon on the brand-new Powder Monkey chairlift on Friday morning.
The lift opened for us at 10a this morning after the Snowshoe team worked extensively all off-season to install the lift.
This is the first new chairlift installed at Snowshoe since 2006 and will increase uphill capacity, and ease congestion in the Basin area.
In addition, it will improve access to the Western Territory.
The new Powder Monkey lift is a quad with a loading conveyor and replaces a triple.
The opening of the Powder Monkey lift is part of a big Friday at the ‘Shoe as they have also expanded terrain significantly ahead of the weekend with Silver Creek and Soaring Eagle area now open for the season.
