Fall is quickly reaching the peak, while Old Man Winter may make a brief appearance this upcoming weekend.

I mean what else would we expect from 2020.

For the fall colors, it is the peak time of year as most of our area reached peak color this past weekend or will so this week. It is amazing how fast the colors started popping even overnight in some locations.

Grandfather Mountain shared these incredible views (as well as our featured photo) late last week of the color.

Skip and Victoria do an incredible job with the photography for Grandfather Mountain – be sure to follow the park on social media.

Our ski resorts also shared some great imagery over the weekend showing the color.

It is always awe-inspiring to see our mountains look like a painting this time of year.

This past weekend’s weather wasn’t great for leaf looking, but a quick look over at Resortcams shows there wasn’t a lot of harm done as far as knocking leaves down.

For the High Country, this will definitely be a great visit to take in all of the colors.

While fall is rolling on strong, our own Brad Panovich grabbed attention late last night with this tweet.

There is nothing like a few flakes flying around to get the excitement level to a whole other level.

While we are still a few weeks away from snowmaking operations firing up, it wouldn’t surprise me to a see a test run or two on the cameras this weekend. It is going to be quite chilly this upcoming weekend.

The season will be here before we know it.

That does it for today. Until next time, #ThinkSnow!
