The ski resort and slopes located in Mars Hill NC at Wolf Ridge have been around for decades and the resort formerly operated under a different name: Wolf Laurel Ski Resort and community. A few years back, the Mars Hill Resort got a new name, Ski Wolf Ridge, and with the name change came numerous snowmaking equipment upgrades and lift technology upgrades. Today, with these welcomed changes in place, Wolf Ridge is experiencing quite an upswing, and it recently reported its best holiday numbers in years! While the pre-Christmas small blizzard that Western North Carolina experienced no doubt improved guest numbers and snowmaking ability at the resort, the investments they are making in the NC Ski Resort and community are definitely paying off. Wolf Ridge Ski Resort in Mars Hill North Carolina has major plans for the future and has hopes to create a large-scale four-season resort, complete with single-family homes, condos, a skating rink, community village, and additional chairlifts. Eventually, Wolf Ridge Resort has plans for a large, glass-enclosed heated pool with slide, and an indoor Poolside Café, similar to those found at the larger resorts in other areas.
We look forward to watching more changes unfold at Wolf Ridge Ski Resort and look to the future to enjoy some NC Skiing and NC Snowboarding atop the 84 acres of mountain terrain found here.
