Feeling Like A Monday Morning

It definitely feels like a Monday.

Gray skies and some light underdeveloped snow is setting the tone for this morning. As an added tone-setter, we are dealing with some heavy fog across the region.

Seriously, it looks like you are in a ping-pong ball on some of the cameras.

Today isn’t all gloom and doom as the underdeveloped snow will be on the light side and won’t last long in most locations.

With low crowds and playful snow, it would be a great day to play on the slopes.

I loved App Ski Mountain’s caption on today’s picture of the day – “Rain can’t stop smiles.” Just a great mindset.

Location is going to be key this week as we will have another mixed-bag kind of week with some light rain in the southern part of the area with mixed precipitation (including some light snow) in the northern part.

There are a lot of moving parts to this week’s forecast so stay tuned.

For the full conditions report, be sure to visit the Snow Reports page.

Here are a couple of quick notes from around the area.

  • Snowshoe has left Knotbumber and the skier’s right side of Lower Shay’s Revenge ungroomed for those looking for a more challenging run.
  • Massanutten is hosting Monday Night Madness where you can get slope access tickets for $35 after 4p.
  • Central Park at Wisp is closed today and tomorrow for a rebuild.
  • Ski Sapphire Valley and The Omni Homestead have suspended operations as scheduled. Omni Homestead is set to kick things back up on Thursday while Ski Sapphire Valley is set to resume operations at noon on Friday.

With some good gear, today would be a fantastic day to make some turns.

That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
