Dodging the raindrops will be the name of the game for the next couple of days.

The next couple of days won’t be a complete washout as we will have breaks in the rain, but we will have to deal with some scattered showers and milder temperatures.

Our own Brad Panovich shared his latest skier’s forecast overnight, and the news isn’t all bad.

He definitely grabbed our attention with next week.

As for today, I think Snowshoe nailed it on the head this morning in the Mountain Report with “Snow conditions can be sneaky good on a rainy day as long as you’ve got a good waterproof outer layer to keep you dry and cozy.” You can have a lot of fun in the rain for sure.

Snowshoe is joined by App Ski Mountain, Beech Mountain, Bryce Resort, Cataloochee, Sugar Mountain, and Wisp as resorts that have chairlifts spinning for play today.

A quick glance at where things stand this morning.

App Ski Mountain – App is playing on eight trails with four lifts in operation today. They are riding on a groomed surface with a 28-64″ base.

Beech Mountain – Beech is open for day sessions only for now, and they are playing on 10 trails serviced by three lifts. They are playing on an 18-52″ base with groomed conditions on top.

Bryce Resort – Bryce is the lone Virginia resort open for now. They are playing on four trails with three lifts spinning.

Cataloochee – The Maggie Valley resort is reporting a 16-38″ base with groomed conditions. They have five lifts spinning for eight open trails.

Sugar Mountain – Sugar is playing on eight slopes with four lifts spinning. They are reporting a loose and frozen granular surface atop a 20-50″ base.

Wisp Resort – Wisp is holding steady with eight trails and four lifts available for use today. They are reporting a 22″ base with a groomed and wet granular surface.

As always, you can check out the Snow Reports page for the full details.

That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
