Not going to lie, this morning was a major case of déjà vu.

After yesterday’s kind of surprising snowfall, this morning was much the same. A (kind of) surprise light snow and some extremely cold temperatures are the headlines once again this morning.

The big winner of the morning is Cataloochee with just under four inches of fresh snow in the past 24 hours while Beech, Sugar, and Snowshoe are reporting a fresh inch. Most of the other resorts received a trace to half-inch of fresh powder to help set the ambiance.

Cataloochee is looking AWESOME this morning.

Conditions this morning are some of the best we have seen this season- like play hooky if possible and hit the slopes good. With the cold temperatures (which are nearly identical from yesterday), we are in the second day of around the clock snowmaking, and the resorts are taking full advantage of creating some manmade blizzards.

It is a cold day so be sure to bundle up.

Mike did a quick video tour last night over on Facebook and it was great to see the amount of snow the mountain ops guys were putting down.

It is nothing short of crazy on how fast things improved from late last week with a little natural snow and fast and furious snowmaking. #ThankASnowmaker.

This holiday weekend – especially Sunday and Monday – was spectacular on the slopes and that trend will continue throughout the week. For the latest slope conditions, check out the Snow Reports page.

Kenny played over in Maggie Valley yesterday and said that conditions were super fun. Check out this video that he shared from his adventures.

Ober Gatlinburg was able to get things going on the slopes again this weekend and conditions are improving by the hour. This was a great shot from the lift that they shared on Facebook yesterday.

The Cheat Mountain magic was in full effect over the weekend as they have recorded seven inches in the last 48 hours – on top of around the clock snowmaking meaning the return of the elusive snow whales.

They shared these shots and it looked incredible at 4848’.

Everyone was feeling the winter spirit at Winterplace this weekend once the snow and cold returned. Check out their parking attendant Robbie getting people pumped to ride.

Of note, Winterplace is going to be focusing on snowmaking on certain trails today meaning that trails could close throughout the day. They were planning on not operating lift 3 or lift 9 which would close four trails for today, but those are slated to reopen on Wednesday.

Be on alert for changing conditions (hopefully for the better) as the day progresses and also be alert for snowmaking operations.

If you hit the slopes today, be sure to share your photos and videos with us – we would love to feature your adventures.

That will be it for today. Until tomorrow, #ThinkSnow.
