Today’s featured image is from App Ski Mountain late last week.

It is a status quo day.

Outside of the temperatures, today would seriously be a carbon copy of Monday – which was a beautiful day to be out on the slopes.

Tuesday will deliver another great day to make runs at one of the six open resorts in the area today.

You can view the complete conditions over on the Snow Reports page.

The resorts open for today are App Ski Mountain, Beech Mountain, Cataloochee, Snowshoe Mountain, Sugar Mountain, and Wisp Resort.

The snow should be soft and playful today as conditions with some milder temperatures.

Our own Brad Panovich provided his latest skier’s forecast on Monday night, and cold air is certainly on the way in the coming weeks.

We will certainly take it.

Monday did bring a few updates on operations at a couple of resorts that haven’t dropped the rope on the 2021-22 season just yet.

Winterplace announced that they will crank up the season on Saturday, Dec. 18.

Winterplace is expecting 13 trails and six lifts for opening day.

On the flip side, Wolf Ridge announced that their opening date set for later this week has been put on hold due to the warmer temperatures. A new opening date for Wolf Ridge hasn’t been set just yet.

Ski Sapphire Valley also provided an update that they are hopeful to be open this weekend and that it could just be the training hill and tubing.

We will provide updates as we learn more.

Speaking of updates, here are a couple of social media posts for you to check out.

That does it for today, but until next time, #ThinkSnow!
