We are getting a small taste of winter the past couple of days.
With cold air moving in, some light flurries and snow showers came along to give us a small winter preview.

It was awesome to look out and see some light snow falling, and it certainly helps get us even more fired up for the season.

It is hard to believe we are potentially less than a month away from the start.

While most locations just saw flurries, a couple of our northern resorts actually saw the first accumulation of the 2022-23 season.

Canaan Valley, Timberline and Snowshoe are all reporting around an inch of snow overnight.

David Lesher of Canaan Weather noted that today’s first snowfall has occurred earlier in the season than all but two such dates in the past 21 winters.

Today’s featured image is from earlier in the day at Snowshoe when the flakes started flying as well as the rime ice starting accumulating.

Here are some shots from Resortcams this morning.

Pretty sweet.

Wisp also received some accumulation but it was on the lighter side of just a tenth.

Just about everyone else saw flurries and light snow showers, but it still helps the winter excitement.

As a quick note, there was no visible snowmaking on cameras this morning.

The cold air will stick around today before we slowly move back to more fall-ish weather by the weekend.

That does it for today, but as always, #ThinkSnow!
