It is going to be a beautiful Valentine’s Day to kick off the week.

Conditions are looking pretty sweet for the day after the cold and some natural snow returned Saturday night.

We saw the natural snow kick up last night at a few locations to help set the ambiance for today.

Wisp added four inches to their tally to bring their two-day total is around 6″ of fresh powder, while Canaan Valley and Timberline saw an additional 3.8″ of fresh snowfall to bring their two-day total to just under 6″.

Snowshoe picked up an additional 2″ of snow overnight for a storm total of 5″. Massanutten, Wintergreen, and Wisp all finished the event with around 4″ of fresh powder, while Winterplace and Bryce Resort weren’t far behind.

Unfortunately, the North Carolina resorts missed out on the event as a heavy dusting was about the extent of the accumulation for the two days.

However, the mountain operation crews have worked their magic all across the board for a refresh, and conditions are looking incredible to kick off the workweek.

For the full run down, be sure the visit the Snow Reports page.

The main takeaway this morning – the conditions are looking sweet right now.

With the temperatures, we could see some around-the-clock snowmaking for the resorts who chose to do so, but nearly every resort will make snow over the next 24 hours or so.

The weather this week will be a bit of a roller coaster ride as the cool temperatures will stick with us today, but we will see a bit of a thaw out as the week goes on.

However, we are keeping on our eye on the President’s Day Weekend forecast for the return of cold temps and some potential snow.

While it is pretty far out, we will certainly be keeping an eye on and bringing updates as needed.

I am sure Brad will also be checking in with the latest Skier’s Forecasts throughout the week.

That does it for today, but until tomorrow, #ThinkSnow (and Happy Valentines Day)!
