Snow Falling Today…

All of the mountains will have the possibility for a little more snow today with rain in the lower elevations of the North Carolina mountains. However, the big winner in terms of snow accumulations will be up in the Virginias and Maryland. Parts of that region could pick up a total of 6 inches of snow before all is said and done tonight.

It will be quite cold for the next couple of days with lows tonight in the teens in many spots tonight. In the Virginias and Maryland, some sub-zero wind chill values could occur late tonight and early Thursday.

Enjoy the cold weather for the next couple of days because it will get much milder by the weekend. In fact, by later in the weekend into early next week, many spots might not even reach snow-making temps at night.

There is some chance we could try to chill back down by mid-week next week, especially in the northern parts of the region. But I am not holding my breath. Like I said, enjoy the cold now. Maybe things will look a little better with my next update…
