HERES’ THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:

Leave the heavy coat in the closet….

For WISP, TIMBERLINE and CANAAN…. Clouds will be on the increase today with a high around 50. Showers develop tonight (80%) with lows in the upper 30’s. The “Liquid Snow” continues for Friday (80%), mainly in the morning with a high in the middle 50’s. Still a bit wet Saturday with a 30% rain chance and highs around 50 degrees.

At SNOWSHOE…. Today looks a bit breezy with partly sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 40‘s. Rain showers move in overnight (60%) and continue into Friday (70%) with highs in the low 50’s. Look for off and on scattered showers on Saturday (30%) with temperatures in the middle 40’s.

WINTERGREEN, VA & OBER GATLINBURG, TN – Skies will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny today with temperatures in the upper 50’s. Rain showers move in tonight (60%) with lows in the middle 40’s. More rain showers (60%) for Friday with a high around 60 degrees.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….

Clouds move in for today with a 30% chance for some liquid sunshine, mainly in the late afternoon. Highs will warm up into the upper 50’s. Rain likely overnight (80%) with a low around 46 degrees. The rain showers hold over into Friday (50%) with temperatures back in the upper 50’s. Only an early morning shower (20%) to kick off the first weekend of 2007 with the mercury still in the upper 50’s.
