The summary of the update: The weather summaries are pretty diverse across the region, so we’ve provided the weather forecast by state:

The North Carolina Mountains:
After a cold and sunny Monday (highs in the low 30s) the overnight low Monday night will dip back to 15-20° and that means more snowmaking! Tuesday will be somewhat close to normal with sunny skies and highs in the low 40s. Tuesday night is clear and cold with lows in the upper 20s so some more snowmaking should be taking place where needed. Wednesday looks like a MIX of early snow, changing to rain during the day with highs around 44°. It gets colder after midnight and changes things BACK TO SNOW and snow will continue into Thursday with highs around 35° and Thursday night lows in the lower teens. Things will stay COLD Friday with highs in the upper 20s and low 30s with sunny skies. Friday night’s low should be in the teens. So ski conditions will be awesome over the weekend. Saturday looks snowy with some snow showers and flurries and highs in the upper 20s with lows in the teens. Sunny looks continued cloudy skies and cold temps in the upper 20s.

The Virginia Mountain:
The low Monday night should allow Massanutten, Bryce and Wintergreen to make snow as it dips into the teens. Tuesday looks sunny with highs around 43° and lows Tuesday night should allow for snowmaking at 26° or so. Wednesday looks like a mixed rain/snow event with 80% chance of rain during the day and a high around 42°. Things will cool somewhat Wednesday night but it will be a toss up as to whether it turns to snow. Thursday’s high will be around 40° so expect a little more rain/snow mix. Friday things get colder with sunny skies and highs aroudn 37° or so. Friday night’s low will be around 17°.
