A Cold and Sunny Sunday on tap for Southeast Ski Resorts!

COLD is the word for today! All ski areas across the Southeast are reporting in with temps in the single digits and teens this morning.  The coldest reading this morning was up at Snowshoe where at 6am the temps was MINUS 6°!!!  Wisp Resort in Maryland is showing MINUS 4°! Wintergreen and Winterplace Resorts are reporting in with 2°.

Hawksnest Resort in North Carolina is reporting 10°, Ski Beech 11°, Wolf Laurel – Appalachian – Cataloochee are all showing 16°.  It will be COLD out today even with the sun shining so dress appropriately!

Natural snow fell across the Southeast on Saturday and snow totals varied from state to state.  Here’s the reported snow tallies from each ski area.

Appalachian Ski Mountain – 2” – 29”
Cataloochee Ski Area – 2” – 55”
Hawksnest Ski Resort – 4” – 52”
Ski Beech Resort – 4” – 59”
Sugar Mountain – 4” – 53”
Wolf Laurel Slopes – 2” – 33”
Wintergreen Resort – 1” – 31”
Canaan Valley – 2” – 105”
Snowshoe Mountain – 3” – 132”
Timberline Resort – 2” – 105”
Winterplace Resort – 3” – 72”
Wisp Resort – 4” – 99”
Ober Gatlinburg – 1” – 27”

We will be about 10-15° colder than normal for today under beautiful Sunny skies.  Ski conditions will be as get as they get on Sunday. Today’s high will be from 32° in the North Carolina Mountains to a high of 16° or so up at Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia .  Wisp Resort in Maryland could see temps rise to about 20° or so.  Ski Beech in North Carolina may also see highs stay in the 20s.
