WISP RESORT OPENS FOR THE 2021-22 WINTER SEASON THIS WEEKEND

Maryland’s only ski resort set to open with five runs, learning terrain, snow tubing, and more!


DEEP CREEK LAKE, MARYLAND
– Wisp Resort opens for the 2021-22 winter season Friday, December 3 with Snow Tubing and the Mountain Coaster at the Mountain Park from 4:00pm – 8:00pm and for skiing and snowboarding Saturday, December 4 from 9:00am – 4:00pm.

The Mountain Park will continue operations on Saturday, December 4 from 10:00am – 4:00pm and then as regularly scheduled. Skiing and snowboarding will continue daily from 9:00am – 4:00pm weather permitting.

Maryland’s only ski resort began snowmaking on Monday, November 22. Wisp Resort’s General Manager, Ron Hawkes said, “We are excited to be opening as early as we are, and it is all thanks to our Mountain Operations team who took advantage of every second of snowmaking opportunity. We look forward to welcoming guests to the resort for a fun season.” Five slopes are planned to open Saturday including Squirrel Cage, Wisp Trail, Grouse Way, Sunset Boulevard, and Central Park Terrain Park. Multiple chairlifts and conveyor carpets will access the terrain for skiers and snowboarders of all ability levels.

In an effort to manage the ongoing Covid-19 risk for the 2021-22 winter season, Wisp Resort asks guests to follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines which recommend wearing masks indoors, whether vaccinated or not, and at all times if unvaccinated. Guests are reminded to “Physical Distance” and remain 6 feet apart from other guests and staff and should regularly wash their hands or use hand sanitizer when washing is not possible. Lifts will operate at full capacity and masks are not required while riding or waiting in lines. Guests should purchase lift tickets online in advance and utilize contactless pick-up boxes and the resort’s mobile app for food & beverage orders whenever possible.

Lift tickets are $89 for adults and $69 for juniors ages 6-12. Weekend 4-hour flex tickets are $79 for adults and $59 for juniors. Rates for the Mountain Park including Snow Tubing are $39 per person for a 2-hour session. Mountain Coaster tickets are $19 for a single ride and $24 for double rider. Mission: Four’dable Quad Packs of unrestricted lift tickets are available online at wispresort.com through December 19 for $279. Additional services and amenities available for opening weekend include dining, shopping, and skier services.
