For WISP, TIMBERLINE and CANAAN…. Very quiet and mild to finish off the last week of 2006. High pressure will bring in sunny skies and clear nights for Wisp, Timberline and Canaan with afternoon temperatures in the upper 40’s and lower 50’s. Nights will be clear with temperatures bottoming out in the middle 20’s. We’ll start off the Holiday weekend with clouds moving in and isolated rain showers, with temperatures holding steady around 50 degrees.
At SNOWSHOE…. … Looking at sunny days and clear nights with temperatures a little cooler in the lower and middle 40’s. Thursday night will be cold with upper teens and low 20’s… Clouds will hold temperatures warmer for Friday night with upper 30’s on the mercury. Scattered showers (30%) move in for Saturday with temperatures in the upper 40’s.
WINTERGREEN, VA and OBER GATLINBURG, TN – Sunny skies and middle 50’s for Thursday and Friday. Lows around 30 Thursday night… and Friday night for Ober Gatlinburg. Add about 10 degrees to that for Wintergreen. Widely scattered showers (20 – 30%) to start the weekend off with highs in the upper 50’s.
HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….
Western North Carolina is looking at a quiet and mild pattern for the next few days with sunshine and lower 50’s both Thursday and Friday. Overnight lows will dip into the low and middle 30’s. Wet and mild conditions will kick off the New Year’s weekend with scattered showers (30%) and highs in the lower 50’s. Temperatures will only cool off into the upper 30’s Saturday night with more rain likely.
