HERE’S THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:
Real January Weather Returns…

For WISP, TIMBERLINE and CANAAN…. Snow showers (70%) with a possible 1 to 3 inches through the day on Tuesday. Temperatures will slide from the 30’s early down into the middle 20’s by late afternoon. Down into the deep freeze Tuesday night with more snow showers and lows around 10 degrees. An early morning snow shower or two on Wednesday, then gradually decreasing clouds and temperatures in the middle 20’s.

At SNOWSHOE…. A very cold Tuesday with a 70% chance of light snow through the day, totaling between 1 to 3 inches. Temperatures will top out around 20 degrees with northwest winds around 20 mph. The light snow tapers off late Tuesday night with a low around 8 degrees. Wednesday will be partly cloudy with a high around 20 degrees.

WINTERGREEN, VA… Mostly cloudy for Tuesday with morning temperatures in the 40’s, but falling through the day into the low 30’s thanks to a northwest wind. Partly cloudy and cold for Tuesday night with lows in the upper teens. Sunshine returns for Wednesday with warmer temperatures in the middle 30’s.
OBER GATLINBURG…. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with an isolated shower (20%) and highs in the upper 30’s. Skies will be partly cloudy Tuesday night with a low around 23 degree. Mostly sunny on Wednesday with temperatures in the lower 40’s.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….

Winter is back for Western North Carolina ! A 50% chance of light snow Tuesday with a dusting to an inch possible. Temperatures will be in the middle 30’s with a northwest wind around 20 mph. Scattered snow showers (30%) linger into Tuesday night as the big chill sets in. Temperatures will bottom out in the lower and middle teens. High pressure will dry things out and bring sunny skies to the High Country by Thursday, with a high around the freezing mark.
