Mild weather and rain dampen the skiing the last couple of days, but as mentioned earlier things will improve by late Wednesday. Another cold front is set to blast across the region Wednesday evening, with some rain changing to snow during the late evening. Behind the front cold air and windy conditions develop by Thursday morning. Temperatures will be plenty low enough for Thursday and Friday for many hours of snowmaking. So the slopes should be back to the form we saw last weekend by this weekend.

Then things get interesting this weekend, still a lot to unfold. But the potential for some natural snow is coming again over the weekend. A nice looking storm heads towards the Southeast, but timing is critical Right now it’s a wet snow if it ends up being all snow, but temperatures will be marginal. I’ll keep my eye on it and update tomorrow.

Forecast for the week:

North Carolina

Wed: Cloudy with rain/snow late 52/29
Thu: Snow flurries early, windy 30/20
Fri: Sunny and cool 32/25

Weekend: Chance of snow 35/28

Virginias:

Wed: Cloudy with rain/snow 52/27
Thu: Snow showers 1-3” 30/5
Fri: Clouds & Sun 18/-1

Weekend: Chance of snow late 32/15

Good Skiing!

Brad
