HERE’S THE SKIER’S FORECAST FOR THE MIDATLANTIC AND SOUTHEAST RESORTS:
In a Nutshell…..Winter Returns

For WISP, TIMBERLINE and CANAAN…. Picking up some natural snow today. Look for a 70% of light snow showers in the morning with a total of 1 to 2 inches possible. Highs will be in the middle and upper 30’s. Clouds on the increase tonight with light snow showers developing late. Lows will be in the low 20’s. For Tuesday and Tuesday night more light snow (50 – 70% chance) with additional accumulations around another 2 inches or so, with a high around 30 and a low in the upper teens.

At SNOWSHOE…. Starting off today with a rain/snow mix (80%) and temperatures in the lower 30’s. As temperatures drop through the day, precip will change to all light snow with a west wind around 20 mph. New accumulation of around an inch is possible. Another round of snow develops tonight with a weak cold front moving through the region with lows in the upper teens and a dusting to an inch accumulation possible. Snow showers will continue Tuesday and Tuesday night with highs in the low 20’s and lows in the middle teens.

WINTERGREEN, VA …Some morning rain likely (60%) with temperatures starting out in the lower 40’s and getting cooler through the afternoon, thanks to a west wind between 15 and 20 mph. Skies will be partly cloudy Monday night with temperatures in the low 20’s. Tuesday brings an isolated rain or snow shower with highs in the low 40’s.

OBER GATLINBURG, TN – After a cloudy start, increasing sunshine for skies over the Smokies with highs in the lower 40’s. Partly cloudy skies for tonight with a low in the upper 20’s. Tuesday will start off with a few scattered snow flakes (30%) then temperatures warm up into the upper 30’s with a chance of scattered rain showers. An isolated evening snow shower Tuesday night , then clouds are on the decrease and temperatures fall into the low 20’s.

HERE’S THE OUTLOOK FOR THE WESTERN NORTH CAROLINA MOUNTAINS….

Some scattered showers (30%) this morning with temperatures in the mid 30’s. Skies gradually become sunny with highs reaching into the upper 30’s. Another weak cold front supplies some moisture for another round of snow showers late tonight with temperatures in the low 20’s. Light snow sticks around Tuesday and Tuesday night with highs in the low 30’s and lows in the upper teens. Potential accumulations of a dusting to an inch will be possible.
