Sugar Mountain Making Snow! Snowshoe Mountain Receiving Snow!

First Trax

Stay up to date by getting notified of new posts!

Guys we just got word that Sugar Mountain has cranked up the snowguns. Cold weather is here! Temps are borderline right now but expected to dip cold enough for Gunther and any of the other ski areas to make snow tonight. Hats off to StealthBoarder over on the messageboard for "enlightening" us to that fact. You guys rock! We also received pics from Ed Schneider from up at Snowshoe as they were expecting rain all day – but instead have received snow. (See the front page POD).

Some heads are shaking a bit as moderate to heavy rain (under developed snow) has fallen in the last hour or so, but that should change to an all snow event overnight.

If you’re reading from the Greenville SC area be sure to check out WYFF, NBC as Stephanie and the weather peeps are featuring one of the LIVE Sugar Mountain cams. Hopefully we’ll see some snow and not a fogged in moment.

Look for more updated later this evening or at least around sunrise Friday.

Be sure to check back often for more photos being posted as well as our video blog. If you have not yet visited our Ski Messageboard Forum you should do so.

We’ll be sharing TONS more input about our plans for this season, but for a little sneak peek visit:
