Skier’s Southeast Ski Resort Forecast for the Final Days of 2005-2006 Season!

Here’s the forecast for each ski area open for this weekend…

WISP RESORT – Mostly sunny today, with a high near 63. Southwest wind between 7 and 10 mph. Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 43. Southwest wind between 8 and 10 mph.  Friday: A 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm. Increasing clouds, with a high around 72. Southwest wind between 11 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.  Friday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low near 49. Breezy, with a west wind between 16 and 24 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Saturday: A 50% chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 56. West wind between 9 and 16 mph. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. Saturday Night: A chance of showers, mainly before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 33. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.  Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high around 61.

SNOWSHOE MOUNTAIN and TIMBERLINE REGION  – Today: Mostly sunny, with a high around 50. South wind between 6 and 10 mph. Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 45. South wind between 6 and 14 mph. Friday: A slight chance of showers between 2pm and 4pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Partly cloudy, with a high around 58. Calm wind becoming south between 7 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.  Friday Night: A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms. Increasing clouds, with a low near 41. West wind between 9 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible. Saturday: A chance of showers, mainly before 9am. Mostly cloudy, with a high around 50. West wind around 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.  Saturday Night: A slight chance of showers before 10pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 33. Chance of precipitation is 10%. Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 59.

CATALOOCHEE RESORT – Since they are planning to be open Saturday only…here’s the forecast: Saturday: A 30% chance of showers before 1pm. Partly cloudy, with a high around 64. West wind between 10 and 14 mph. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
