Meteorologist Matthew East with Carolina News 14 has updated his Skier’s Forecast for the Southeast and Mid Atlantic Ski Resorts and you can view that full video by clicking on the link at the bottom of this text update!

Matthew says that it is still VERY COLD in the plain states and as we all know, we have a milder air mass here in the Southeast. Matthew reports that it is actually colder in the Peidmont of North Carolina than in most of the mountain regions this morning.  There’s a winter storm going on in the Northeast states into Vermont.

Matthew said to expect showers again on Wednesday, though not heavy. Thursday we will be "between systems" with a break from the precipitation and then Friday things look like light rain again for most of NC, VA, WV, and Maryland although he didn’t rule out that the Virginias and Maryland could see a little wintry mix in their weather. Another system moves in on Saturday and Sunday with more light rain for the NC Mountains and most of Virginia.  West Virginia and Maryland could see a little mix again, but it looks like more in the way of light rain again.

Things turn SHARPLY COLDER on Monday with some snow showers in the forecast and he expects that cold to moderate somewhat but remain nice and cold through Christmas and into the Christmas Weekend.

That is good news to snowmaking crews and to fans making the trek to the mountains for the Holidays!!!

Check back later.
